I used to think the same until I explored with some fellow photography enthusiasts from university. The real essence of Ahmedabad is found in its heritage streets. Each narrow lane exudes a unique charm, and the locals are incredibly warm and welcoming. I recall taking a photo of a vendor who was thrilled to be captured on camera. He shared a fascinating story about Amitabh Bachchan’s advertisement promoting Gujarat and how Bachchan had bought flowers from his shop. The experience was nothing short of incredible.

Celebrated with great fervor here, the Navratri vibes in Ahmedabad are truly unforgettable. The festival usually begins in late September and runs through early October, so visiting during this period will give you a taste of the city’s vibrant celebrations.
